Feeling happy, and oh-so grateful! - LAURA'S little PARTY

Feeling happy, and oh-so grateful!

April 19, 2012

My goodness! LAURA'S little PARTY has had an AMAZING last 3 days!

It all started when I posted my Mother's Day inspired tea party!
On Sunday, I received an email from Jillian, at Catch my party
She informed me that my tea party was given the title of 'Party of the Day'!
It gave me the greatest feeling to know that the party I created with my Grandmother,
was worthy of such an honor!

On Monday, I was greeted by another unexpected email.
This time it was from Meredith. She has a lovely site called, The Party Press blog.
She mentioned to me that she would be posting my Mother's Day inspired tea party on her blog!
By now, I'm just bursting at the seams!

On Wednesday evening, I stumbled upon another email from Jillian at Catch my party.
She had made my Cinco de Mayo fiesta, 'Party of the Day'!!
So not only was I still bursting at the seams from the other day,
I was now doing a happy dance, and squealing like... I don't know what!

My family & friends have known about my obsession for planning parties,
but not too many know how this idea was originally planted in my head...

Once upon a time, there was a girl, nearly 12 years ago, who had a nasty bout with depression.
She still has "episodes" {as she likes to call them} but nothing like she did in the past!
One day, as her therapist was getting to know her,
they both discovered that this girl truly, madly, deeply, loved to throw parties!
Over a period of several months, the girl was able to move on from her therapy sessions.
But all the while, she kept the doctor's suggestion of party planning, in the back of her mind.
The girl did this for several years...
As new friends came along, they saw passion for parties in her eyes, and creativity in her blood.
They too had urged, suggested, and lovingly demanded that she do something about this!
So, here I am... FINALLY listening to everyone around me.
And I'm truly digging everyone's support, kind words, and their suggestion to get more sleep - Ha!
I'm blessed with a wonderful, understanding, patient, and loving husband I could ever hope for!
Every time I share my picures of a new party shoot with him, he says,
"Don't forget about me when you're famous" He's too cute : )

Dreaming of party themes, scribbling notes, snapping inspiration pics with my iPhone,
and embracing my obsession for parties, has brought me to where I am today.
I'm a happy, silly, grateful, bubbly, never wanna go back to that dark time ever again, kind of girl!

Thank you, from the bottom of my happy heart <3
