A few weeks before Christmas, my neighbors & I do a marathon baking session! Actually, I'm the only one out of the bunch that doesn't bake, but I can hold my own when it comes to using chocolate melts, and store bought cookies, etc. *wink

After we bake, we package all of our goods into boxes, containers, and tins. Then we go around the neighborhood and leave our sweets on porches for our other neighbors to enjoy! We've done it for a few years now, and we look forward to getting together every holiday season.

While I was gathering my "baking" supplies from Walmart, I saw the Rubbermaid TakeAlongs and instantly thought these containers would be perfect for handing out our sweet treats!

Rubbermaid TakeAlongs come in different colors, and have a large variety of sizes! We have some elderly neighbors on our cul-de-sac, and the lids are easy enough for them to remove and seal back up with an easy seal & grab pull tab.

Pick up some cute gift tags, and ribbon, and you've got yourself a simply sweet holiday gift to give!
Speaking of giving... Ibotta has a special rebate offer that's exclusive to Walmart shoppers! Grab it for $1 off any two Rubbermaid TakeAlongs products!

Like I mentioned before, I'm not a baker. I love bakers, but I don't love baking. Baked goods are delicious, but mine never look or taste right. So I opt for a different "baking" approach. I love to dip things in chocolate! I'll show you 3 different {and super easy} holiday recipes that are perfect to pack into Rubbermaid TakeAlongs!

Here are the supplies I used:

Rubbermaid TakeAlongs (squares + rectangles)
chocolate melts in assorted colors
festive sprinkles
gingerbread cookie decorations
sandwich cookies (or cookies of your choice)
marshmallow cereal bars

First up is a delicious cookie bark recipe! It's easy, and so yummy. In fact, it can be downright addicting! True story.

I melted green chocolate melts according to the directions on the package. Try your best to not overheat the chocolate. Take your sandwich cookies and break them up in chunks. I put cookies inside of a plastic bag and broke the cookies up.

Once the chocolate is melted, start dropping in your cookie pieces. Stir until well coated. Repeat if desired.

After adding in the desired amount of cookies, I took my chocolate + cookie chunk mixture and spooned them into large, shallow treat wrappers. I let them set inside of my fridge for about 10 minutes.

Once the chocolate hardened, I removed them from the wrapper, and broke up the cookie & chocolate pieces.  Set aside.

Next up is one of my favorites! I dipped marshallow cereal bars in chocolate. Melt your chocolate according to the package's directions. Once chocolate is melted, proceed to dip the bars halfway. Let any extra chocolate drip off.

Remember those cute little gingerbread men I showed you earlier? Well, here is where they come in! Take one of them and add it to the freshly dipped bar. It's best to do this before the chocolate starts to harden.

Once I added my gingerbread friend, and sprinkled on some color! So easy, and so cute!

With the remaining white chocolate, I made more cookie bark. This time I used cookie cutters as a mold. Christmas tree + gingerbread cookie bark = so much fun!

Here I used white chocolate melts, sandwich cookies, sprinkles, and cookie cutters.

Melt your chocolate according to the directions on the package. Add your cookies once the chocolate is melted.

Once your chocolate & cookie mixture is to your desired consistency, spoon your mix into your cookie cutter molds. I set the cutters onto a small cutting board, and covered it with parchment paper. The parchment paper keeps the chocolate from sticking. Set inside of the fridge until the chocolate hardens.

Once chilled, gently push the chocolate out of the molds, from the back side. Set aside.

With all our treats finished, it was time to package them up! To help keep things fresh, I placed parchment paper at the bottom of the Rubbermaid TakeAlongs container.

Arrange your treats, and close it up for gift giving!

I wrapped the Rubbermaid TakeAlongs in striped ribbon, and added a cute snowman tag. So simple.

Even if our neighbors don't open their gifts until Christmas, I'm confident the Rubbermaid Quik Clik Seal™ technology will keep our treats fresh, secure, and prevent any spills after they're delivered!
