Galentine's Day Party! | Valentine Party Ideas

January 18, 2016

Have you heard of a Galentine's Day Party? I first heard of Galentine's Day back in 2010, while watching Parks and Recreation. They've become so popular! It's a celebration that takes place on February 13th to honor friendships between women!

Since I truly love my girlfriends, I thought I'd surprise them with my own version of a Galentine's Party! They loved the idea, and couldn't wait to celebrate. I set out some sweet treats, bought a couple gifts to share, and set up a festive party table for all of us to enjoy!

I found this darling love kissing booth and knew it would be perfect for my party! I was pleasantly surprised at how large it was. It worked perfectly as a decoration to place around my dessert table.

I also created a fun backdrop that was festive & eye-catching! I took a roll of pink flat paper and attached it to one of my walls. I then added gold metallic fringe and finished it off with a glitter hearts ribbon garland.

And let's not forget the balloons! I decorated the area with latex heart balloons in red, and pink. I also added some pretty gold metallic latex balloons. I attached gold metallic streamers to the balloons, and cut the streamers into strips.

My party table was a place for us Gals to sit, nibble, and celebrate our fabulous friendships! I covered the table with a pink rectangular polyester tablecloth, and topped it with a pretty, gold sequin table runner. I also found some neat black and white striped luncheon napkins. They're cotton, and come on a roll - so clever!

I added some fun gold glitter cutlery and tied each setting with black grosgrain striped ribbon, and set them on top of candy pink plastic plates. Everything coordinated perfectly.

At each place setting I gifted my Galfriends a black and white striped travel mug. To coordinate with my colors & theme, I embellished them with some fun Valentine stickers that I picked up at Target.

Next, I took these darling pink mini favor boxes, and set them out onto a small cake stand. I filled them with sweet candies, and embellished with stickers & decorative clothespins.

Treats & food for your Galentine's party can be as simple or detailed as you wish. I opted for a simple dessert setting that had some of our favorite snack foods.

Are you ready to start planning your own Galentine's Day party?! There's no better time than to celebrate those beautiful Gals in your life!
