Chomp! Shark + painting party ideas

Hooray for Summer! During the warm season, my family and I love hanging out at the beach. We visit every chance we get.

This week we took a day trip to our favorite spot - San Clemente State Beach, here in California! To make it a little more fun, we took the party to the ocean! With the help of Oriental Trading and Social Artworking, I'll be sharing some easy ideas for putting together a shark themed painting party - grab a towel and stick around!

Our friends over at Oriental Trading have some really cool shark themed party items that are chomp-tastic for your next shark party! Set up a table or cart and fill it with fun favors, tasty snacks, sweet treats, and a few party activities. Get the party started with some fun color your own scuba masks!

Set out mini pails and fill them with Swedish fish - sharks love chum! Display little galvanized pails on a cake stand to make it easy for party guests to grab and eat.

Be sure to have plenty of bubble bottles on hand. Bubbles are a super easy way to create lots of fun at any party!

HomeGoods is one of my favorite stores to find fun party props, paper goods, and cake stands! Here I found a small wooden buoy, and a darling wooden anchor - I was instantly "hooked".

Silver popcorn boxes are great when serving up tasty popcorn. Add a coordinating tag to make your party theme more personal!

How cute are these CandyBobs from Sweets from Heaven?! They created a tasty shark themed bob. Not only are they party-perfect, they come individually wrapped and are so easy for your guests to grab and chomp!

For pool or beach parties, provide towels and attach a cute tag to each one. Display them in a basket, and your guests are ready to soak up all the fun!

Is it possible for sharks to be cute and lovable? Absolutely. Especially if they're cute little plush sharks! Fill up a basket full of sharks and let your guests adopt one.

I think it's so fun when party guests can choose from a few fun party favors! I like to set out some easy-to-grab items. Shark fins, from Oriental Trading, are a must for your shark themed party! Your party guests will love wearing their fins as they run around the water.

Get your guests involved in a fun party activity - painting! My boys truly love to paint, and they always have such a great time creating their masterpieces. Our friends from Social Artworking have a big selection of great designs that are perfect for every occasion!

All you have to do is pick out a design to paint, and choose your supplies. They ship everything out, and even include step-by-step instructions. It's so fun, easy, and promotes creativity - which I think is awesome! For our shark party, we picked out the Wave Rider design + all the supplies!

Set up your guests with their own painting station and kit. Take a favor box and fill it with painting supplies. Attach their paint brushes, and add a cool shark tooth necklace.

Need a clever way to seat your small guests at a beach party? Try a crate or bucket, like the ones you see here. I took a car wash bucket and spray painted it with Rustoleum paint, in classic navy. They're easy to transport and can hold all the party favors for when your guests are ready to leave.

Your guests will have so much fun as they bring their design to life! Not only is Social Artworking a great party activity, but your guests will have something to take home and proudly display it!

With Spring here, and Summer on deck, a shark party would be a fun way to celebrate! Will you be planning a shark themed party soon? I'd love to hear about it!
