Party like a pineapple with a tropical themed birthday celebration

March 30, 2018

Throwing a birthday party soon? You won't want to miss all the stunning party inspiration and festive ideas for throwing your next celebration! Last October I celebrated my birthday with several close friends and my family, and I got to 'Party Like a Pineapple'! I fell in love with this Shindigz theme and I'm pretty sure this was one of my favorite parties to date!

I brought this beautiful theme to life with bold striped accents, shades of pink, green, and fun tropical touches! I like to set up a main area for all the food, drinks, etc. Make it pleasing to the eye by coordinating your decor, food table and drink station. Here I created a party backdrop with Pink Flat Paper and Cardboard Palm Trees. Add other details to your backdrop that coordinate with your theme, such as a Cursive Balloon! I easily attached the balloon to my party backdrop and then added a couple Tropical Leaves to complete the look!

Fill in empty spaces with tissue fans, Tissue Balls and Paper Lanterns. Don't be afraid to get creative with simple decor pieces. Elevate your decorations by hanging things above your party area! Stringing pretty paper decor made my party POP with color and looked extra festive.

For a fun detail, I purchased a black beach umbrella and embellished it with cute pom-pom fringe, from JoAnn frabrics. I love how it turned out and I still have it up on my patio!

So many of my friends love to play with succulents! I made sure there was a succulent bar for all my guests to create a terrarium and take home their creation.

To keep my party running smoothly as I mingled with my guests, I set up a designated area for beverages, ice and party cups. When guests see a self-serve station, they'll happily help themselves to a party drink and you'll have more time to enjoy your celebration with your guests!

I made sure every guest went home with one of my favorite cups ever;  a disco tumbler. Aren't they the cutest?!

Set out garnishes for your party sips and don't forget a personalized Party Like a Pineapple bottle opener! Easily dress up your bottles of wine with personalized Wine Bottle Labels in your party's theme!

Are your party guests on social media? Create your own unique hashtag that will perfectly represent your special event! Display it on a Hashtag Centerpiece and watch all the great memories that are being made. This is an easy way to document all the fun and silly photos that you may have missed while you were enjoying your party! I even created my own Snapchat filter and told my guests to snap away!

I also had my very own custom party crown! My sweet friend Shawna made this and it is so gorgeous! She is so talented!

Not looking forward to blowing out a ton of candles? Try a more enthusiastic approach by blowing out Number Shaped Sparklers

Fill your dessert table with tasty treats and little things to nibble on. I love giving my guests options. I also love to splurge on decorated cakes, cupcakes and cookies. However, sometimes I don't always have time to place an order in advance. No worries! You can still make your store-bought items look amazing and festive with fun details such as displaying them on pretty cake stands and trays. Easily embellish your treats with cupcake toppers, flags and even personalized Party Like a Pineapple cupcake wrappers.

Add special touches to your candies with a personalized Party Like a Pineapple mini candy bar wrapper! They'll look so sweet on your party table. My friends thought they were the cutest!

Toss the confetti, 'cause its party time! Set out favors for your guests to help kick off the celebration. To help my guests get involved in the fun, I set out Confetti Push Poppers! I embellished the containers to better coordinate with my party theme by adding striped paper and personalized Party Like a Pineapple stickers!

For my celebrations, I always like to add a unique twist that my guests wouldn't expect. I wanted to serve ice cream at my party, however, I wanted to put a fun little spin on it. I refurbished a vintage popcorn stand and turned it into a pretty, pink ice cream cart - Ooh la la! I set out a variety of ice cream flavors inside of Scalloped Containers. I had spoons readily available and set out Black Treat Cups for my guests to put their ice cream in.

Create the perfect table scape for your guests to enjoy conversation and great party food. Don't be afraid to mix and match patterns, fabrics and colors! I love the look of polyester table covers. I used a Pink Rectangular Tablecloth and set out black dishes - I loved how the Striped Dessert Plates made everything pop! Tropical Leaves and Pink Napkins were set out and I topped off each place setting with a Confetti Popper!

Do your friends and family enjoy some friendly competition? Set out a game of Cornhole and let the games begin! I added a large personalized Party Like a Pineapple Sticker to coordinate with my party's theme.

Out in the yard, I had a small area designated as a "lounge" - it was great for my guests to converse, participate in games and take in the evening ambiance!

I created a super fun party "cabana" with a simple black EZup, fabric, and pom-pom ribbon! I love it so much! It served as the perfect space to get creative as the party guests painted and sipped!

And let's not forget a DIY photo booth! They are so much fun and very entertaining! Have you ever witnessed all the fun people are having when they dress up for photos? Hilarious! I added more Palm Trees to a Photo Booth Backdrop. I loved have a black canvas to work with. This allowed me to get creative with my photo booth theme and also gave me the opportunity to add my own personal decor touches, like a string of Paper Lanterns and Tissue Balls

Make sure you set out fun props and wearables like fun Black Feather Boas, hats and sunglasses!

Having personalized party favors for your guests will make them feel extra special! I had so much fun creating a mixture of pink grapefruit sugar scrub for my fiends. It was so easy and just a small token of my appreciation. I filled Glass Candy Jars with my sugar scrub mixture and set the pretty jars out on a cake stand. My guests loved them!

Are you ready to party like a pineapple?! Or perhaps you're just ready to throw a big celebration. Either way, I hope I've left you with some easy tips and fun ideas for throwing your next Shindig!
