Chinese New Year party inspiration + {FREE} printables
January 20, 2014
Have you ever celebrated Chinese New Year?
Aside from witnessing a beautiful parade in Chinatown,
this will be our first official celebration.
In honor of the year of the horse, I styled a small Chinese New Year party!
I picked up a few things to help celebrate.
I bought fortune cookies, and cupcakes, and also
picked up Chinese food from our favorite restaurant.
I gathered decorations that I had around the house,
spray painted trays, and even a couple toy horses.
Kiley, from Made by a Princess, created the perfect mini printable kit that
was perfect for our small, family gathering!
I added her printables to red envelopes, and fortune cookies,
The party horns were left over from past birthday parties.
I added a printable straw flag to each one, and displayed them on a gold tray.
To make things a little more festive, I spray painted fortune cookies with gold edible
color spray from Wilton. It was super easy to use, and added a fun element!
I then added the cookies to the tops of the cupcakes, along with star picks from Target.
I added more printables to red paper lanterns, chopsticks, mini take-out boxes,
and tissue fans.
I hope I helped by giving you a little party inspiration to throw your own celebration!

It was so fun learning about the traditions of Chinese New Year.
And now, my family looks forward to celebrating it every year!
