Fiesta Party Ideas for Cinco de Mayo - LAURA'S little PARTY

Fiesta Party Ideas for Cinco de Mayo

April 19, 2017

Serapis, bright bold colors, and festive decor are a few things you'll need to throw a Fiesta Party for Cinco de Mayo. If you're looking for some colorful party ideas, you'll want to stick around to see what I've created!

Let's start with this amazing Fiesta arch. It works great as a walkway into your party, but I really wanted to use it as part of my Fiesta table decor! It was so much larger than I expected - I fit a 4' table inside perfectly. Then, I hung a gold metallic curtain in the background.

The neat part about ordering from Shindigz is that you can personalize some of their party decor with any message - I chose "let's fiesta"! I added some teal colored lace paper lanterns for an added pop of color. I hung a Del Sol banner, and gold metallic fringe in front of the arch and it all looked so festive!

I also added colorful Fiesta themed paper fans to the front of the arch.

One of the first things I enjoy doing after I pick my party theme is to shop for party decor! When it comes to fiestas, you can't go wrong with vivid colors, and pinatas!

For a festive table setting, I used a serapi as my tablecover. I added some gold chargers, and bold red plates. I took a pair of maracas that I spray painted gold, and set them on each plate.

Right before my party, I went down to the flower district in Los Angeles, CA. There I found a wonderful selection of beautiful, fresh flowers! I even bought a few succulent plants. They added a great element to our celebration.

I used sombreros as part of my cinco de mayo decor as well. I attached a hat to the backs of each guest's chair.

While your party guests are waiting for the main course, satisfy their appetite with tasty treats of pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread), cups of fresh fruit, sweet peppers topped with fresh guacamole, and of course... Margaritas! The gold sequins runner brought a sparkly touch to the food display.

Even drinks look festive when decorated with fun drink stirers like this one, from Creativities Galore
The sweet pepper & lime are a fun touch that your party guests will love.

Shrimp ceviche is one of my favorites! I served the seafood mixture in clear tumblers, over tortilla chips, and topped with lime and avocado slices.

Sweet peppers were sliced lengthwise and filled with guacamole. They were the perfect appetizer for a sweet, crunchy, and bold kick!
