#Disneykids Preschool Playdate| Lion Guard Safari
June 08, 2016
I received free products from Disney and MomSelect in order to host this #DisneyKids preschool playdate. As always, all opinions expressed here are my own.
My boys love everything about Disney's The Lion Guard. I happen to love every song from the soundtrack, and listen to it with my boys, on a daily basis! Are you familiar with the show? This stems from the movie The Lion King. It's the follow-up story of Simba's little cub, Kion. It's one of the most watched Disney Junior shows in my house these days!
When we found out that we were chosen to host a Disneykids playdate party, I knew my boys would really enjoy a safari animal theme, just like Kion & friends, in the pridelands! Our party pack came with some fun Lion Guard tattoos, mini posters, and so much more! These were perfect for our playdate.
I wanted the party guests to feel like they stepped into the Kilamanjaro Safari, just like at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom! I transformed my backyard by adding zebra, elephant, and giraffe cardboard standees.
I set up a small party table that was fit for our small explorers. I created an easy DIY seat option by painting car wash buckets that were once blue. Turn them over, add a coordinating banner, and you've got some inexpensive seating. Once the party is over, the guests can even use them as a take-home bucket for all of their party goodies!
I personalized a vinyl banner, from Shindigz, and used it as a "Welcome" sign for the party guests. They were so excited to start exploring!
A Disney themed party calls for some darling Mickey cookies. She Wears The Crown captured the perfect mix of animal prints and Disney, with her delicious cookies!
Party activities are a great way to get everyone together for fun & creativity. Our guests had a go at assembling an easy animal mask craft.
At each place setting, I set out a pair of binoculars, a pith helmet, and a Walt Disney World parks map. The maps were included in our playdate party kit and showed the guests all the fun that is to be had when visiting Walt Disney World!
The guests did some exploring, in search of animals of the Kilamanjaro. They looked for and spotted giraffes, elephants, and zebras! They even went on a treasure hunt. I told them to keep their eyes open for a wooden chest.
The safari explorers were so excited when they found the wooden treasure chest! And when they opened it, they discovered what the treasure was...
They found Disney Junior backpacks that included more crafts and activities. The treasure chest was FILLED with all sorts of special goodies! And the best part was that the chest was filled with everything needed to throw a super fun Mickey & Friends party!
A special thank you to the Disney Parks Team, and MomSelect for providing us with tools to create a day of Disney fun for our preschoolers! Until the next adventure!
