Moana inspired paper craft with Laura Kelly Dies from Sizzix

February 08, 2017

My boys love to get creative! You will often find them painting, coloring, or cutting. When you take their current favorite Disney movie, Moana, and a couple of the new sea life dies from Laura Kelly's line with Ellison Sizzix, there is bound to be something fun to create!

My boys love to dress up and role play. We have countless capes, shields, hats, and masks. When I saw the Forest Mask die from the Laura Kelly's classroom line, I just knew my boys would have so much fun making their own masks!

I precut the masks, leaves, flowers, and sea life animals for the boys. This was done with some simple colored card stock that I had in my cabinet. I set everything out on the table, gave them some glue, and let them go to town!

I hung up some ocean scene paper left over from our Moana Party; this would be for them to use later as a photo backdrop. I knew they'd want to show off the projects they created!

Once their little masterpieces were finished, I attached bamboo skewers to the backs of their masks, and also to the backs of the sea turtle, crab, and fish cutouts.

My little guys had fun playing with the sea life creatures against our photo back drop. And just when I thought they were finished, they switched sticks and continued to play longer.

They loved creating their very own mask! I loved that they had the chance to get creative, work together on a project, and enjoy some play time.

As a new member of the Laura Kelly Design Team 2017, I received an Ellison machine, along with her dies, to create fun projects to share with all of you! I can't wait to show you what other fun paper crafts we have up our sleeves.
