Boho Themed Sweet 16 Party - LAURA'S little PARTY

Boho Themed Sweet 16 Party

July 12, 2017

Do you have a Sweet 16 party to plan soon? If you're looking for a fun theme, I'm sharing my ideas on how to put together a boho themed sweet 16 party! Boho has been popular for a while, and you can easily make this theme to be as unique as your sweet 16 year old! My daughter & I worked closely together on what she wanted for her small celebration.

When I think of boho, I picture feathers, teepees, and florals. I was so happy that my daughter listed these items as something she wanted for her party. Once we had our theme chosen, I quickly ordered the desserts for the party. We knew we wanted a beautiful naked cake, gorgeous cookies, and other sweet treats to grace our dessert table.

The State of Grace Personalized Cupcake Wrappers were a sweet touch to our party cupcakes. I loved that we were able to add our own message.

Arlene, from She Wears The Crown, created the most gorgeous boho style cookies! She even decorated them to coordinate with our sparkly teepee.

Maddi, from Sweet Talk Bake Shoppe, baked a beautiful naked cake. We topped it with a sweet banner, and added a flower.

I jumped at the chance to create a sparkly gold teepee with Gold Sequin Fabric, Boxwood Garland, florals, and a pretty paper fan.
I added a couple coordinating pillows, and nestled it near a tree, under a dream catcher + papel picado. It served as a fun hideaway for the party guests to enjoy.

I wanted to maintain a rustic feel throughout the boho themed sweet 16 party, so I opted for a pallet table where seating took place on the grass. I painted the pallets with a coordinating aqua color, and added beautiful elements to the party table. The Gold Sequin Table Runner added the perfect amount of sparkle! I topped it with Vintage Blue Glass Tealight Holders.

The sparkly number 16 was a fun way to incorporate why we were celebrating that day! I took a Styrofoam Number 1, and a Styrofoam Number 6 and embellished them with aqua paint, and gold glitter.

The party guests drank out of gold painted Mason Jars, and nibbled on sweet treats. I sprayed the glass jars with Rustoleum Metallic Gold spray paint. So easy!

The party decor for our Boho Themed Sweet 16 Party was fun to create! I took an old globe, and spray painted it. I took White Crafting Feathers and added them to the globe, along with a tissue paper flower.

I also took some wooden embroidery hoops to create the look of a dream catcher. I adorned them with different textured ribbons: Pink Double Ruffle Ribbon, Pink Wide Double Faced Satin Ribbon, lace, and feathers. I added the dream catchers to the dessert table backdrop, and hung them in a tree.

When our Boho Themed Sweet 16 started to wind down, we brought out some fun photo props, and a Gold and Silver Chevron Photo Booth Wall Standee. It was such a fun addition to our party! The guests had a blast taking pictures.

Once the celebration was over, we sent our guests home with cookies, cupcakes, floral crowns, and sweet State of Grace Mini Favor Jars, filled with candy. We personalizied the labels to say, 'thank you for completing my tribe'.

I had so much fun planning a Boho Themed Sweet 16 Party with my daughter. Will you be creating a sweet 16 party any time soon?
