The Greatest Showman inspired circus party - LAURA'S little PARTY

The Greatest Showman inspired circus party

March 02, 2018

Step right up as we enter an evening filled with wonderment, silly photos, and happy party guests! When The Greatest Showman came out in theaters, it instantly sparked my desire to create a circus themed party that was filled with surprises and "big top" fun!

I loved the circus as a child and was fascinated by all the oddities that came with it: the strong man, the bearded lady and so on. I knew an outdoor dinner party would be a great way to celebrate!

As you get ready to plan out any party, the invites are always the first step to setting the tone and getting your guests excited for what's to come. You can easily create a Circus Soiree ticket on the Shindigz site; they work perfectly as a party invitation!

Create a table setting that is fun and inviting. Bold and bright colors work great with a circus theme! A simple red polyester tableclothred polyester napkins and a navy petal table runner add pops of bold hues against any party's decor. Plastic champagne glasses, candlesticks and gold cutlery add a fancy twist to a circus themed dinner party.

I added gold iron-on vinyl stars to the table cover for some added fun! Bring your circus themed party to life with props such as a fake tiered cake from Confection Deception, circus animals holding tiny barbells and a small 1000 lb. barbell made out of styrofoam balls.

Get your party guests involved by dressing the part with fun props and wearables! Feather and sequin headbands, top hats, and canes make for a fun time.

Guests will appreciate details big and small, like these mini elephant place card holders. Creating your own place card is easy with Shindigz! Add an image and a short message and set them out at each place setting.

Circus parties wouldn't be complete without cotton candy and popcorn! Make sure you have tasty snacks available for your guests.

Capture those great party moments with a larger-than-life Strong Man photo op! DIY photo props are also fun. Anyone can become a fire breather with a flame photo prop. I printed out different sized flames onto colored card stock and cut them out. I attached them together with double-stick tape and hot glued them onto a wooden dowel.

Are you thinking about putting together a circus party in the future? I hope our ideas and tips provided some fun inspiration.
