Celebrating 40 years of the LEGO Minifigure - LAURA'S little PARTY

Celebrating 40 years of the LEGO Minifigure

September 06, 2018

We take celebrating pretty seriously around here! So when the wonderful people over at LEGO® contacted us,  asking if we would like to help them celebrate 40 years of the LEGO® Minfigure, we knew this was going to be a lot of FUN!

This post was sponsored by LEGO®  on behalf of The LEGO Group.  LAURA'S little PARTY has received payment, and/or products, in exchange for party inspiration and fun ideas. As always, all opinions are 100% our own. #LEGO #LEGOMinifigures

Our mission was to create fun party inspiration and share ways to add LEGO® Minfigures into activities and party favors. My boys were ready to celebrate as they happily put on the party shirts I created for them!

The LEGO Group sent over a LEGO® City People Pack: Outdoor Adventures, and 8 packs of the most recent LEGO® Minifigures Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts collection, plus a couple of party supplies.

Are you getting ready to host a LEGO® themed party? I hope you'll like all the easy party ideas, activities, and colorful inspiration that I'll be sharing with you!

I easily created a party table with two square tables that I purchased from IKEA and used blue plastic crates for seating. I really liked how the crates slightly resembled LEGO® bricks!

At each place setting, I used a green LEGO® base for a placemat - they were perfect for our LEGO® theme and also came in handy for our building activity! I packed an easy party meal inside of yellow buckets and added a LEGO® Minifigure face with black vinyl.

Party activities are a great way to enhance your party's theme. My boys love to color! I found a Minifigure template online and printed out coloring pages. With a silicone mold, I made Minifigure crayons for each guest. Not only were they fun to color with, the guests also got to take them home!

Another great party activity, especially for a LEGO® Minifigure party, is building!

My boys love to build morning, noon, and night! They had so much fun putting all the new Minifigures together.

Activities and games are a definite party must-do!

Here we created a fun relay race with large spoons and LEGO® Minifigures. The object of the game? Race to the finish line while holding a LEGO® Minifigure in your spoon. See who reaches the end first without dropping the Minifigure!

I like to have a table designated for displaying all the party necessities. My tables alway consist of a backdrop, balloons, and all the fixings for a fun party: party favors, treats, etc. Display your party plates, cups, and utensils inside a container for easy grabbing!

I created a backdrop with white paper, a colorful balloon garland, and a "40" that I created with a number four balloon and a Minifigure head (made out of cardstock) to represent the zero. The cute Minifigure head was also used on the party shirts I made for my boys.

You can easily create simple party favors with items such as party blowers, Chinese yo-yo's, etc. I added these items inside of popcorn boxes, along with packs of LEGO® Minifigures from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts collection.

Know any slime lovers?! Jars of slime are perfect party favors. I added a few LEGO® bricks to our slime mixture and they were a hit!

My boys and I had a great time celebrating 40 years of the LEGO® Minifigure! I hope we've inspired you to create your own LEGO® Minifigure party that's filled with festive decor and party activities and favors that your guests will love!

We'd like to extend a very big THANK YOU to the LEGO Group for contacting us, and allowing us to celebrate 40 FUN years of the LEGO® Minifigure!
