Back to School Meal Solutions with TysonⓇ Grilled & ReadyⓇ Chicken

August 21, 2018

For many of us, school is back in session and our daily schedules are filled with homework, and a busy weekly routine! When my children come home from school, they are ready for a snack that will hold them over to dinner. Luckily, I can count on Tyson® Foods to offer meal solutions that are convenient, delicious, and packed with protein!

I'm sharing two of my favorite go-to snacks that also work as a quick meal option - perfect for that hectic back to school schedule! And what's really nice is that your kids can create their own snacks, with little assistance!

Grilled chicken wrap
One of my favorite go-to snacks is a delicious chicken wrap made with Tyson® Grilled & Ready® Chicken. Not only is it easy to prepare, it's a quick option that will satisfy the hungriest of hungry!

Here is what I used to whip up this delicious snack:

  • Tyson® Grilled & Ready® Chicken
  • Flour tortillas
  • tomato
  • butter lettuce
  • ranch dressing

Prepare the Tyson® Grilled & Ready® Chicken according to the package directions, and cover.

While the Tyson® Grilled & Ready® Chicken is cooking, I sliced my tomatoes and washed the butter lettuce.

The chicken comes out so moist, and delicious! It's seasoned to perfection and cuts very nicely.

Once your chicken is sliced, grab your lettuce and place it on top of a tortilla. Add your sliced tomatoes on one side, and then add your sliced chicken breasts.

As you're placing the tomatoes and chicken onto the tortilla, be sure to leave some room at the bottom - this will allow you to fold the tortilla upward, to seal the bottom of the wrap.

Once you roll up the bottom of the tortilla, start rolling the tortilla from left to right, until the entire tortilla is rolled up nice & tight.

You can make one, or a few! It's a great quick snack, or an easy meal option. And one thing is for sure... it's delicious!

Another easy & protein packed snack is a Honey Ham and avocado sandwich, on a toasted bagel. (Say that 5 times fast!) My teenager especially loves this easy snack. Sometimes she even makes this for breakfast, which works great for some much needed brain power in the morning!

Here is what I used to whip up this delicious snack:

Honey Ham and avocado sandwich
  • Hillshire Farm® Farm Classics® Lunchmeats - I used Honey Ham
  • Bagels
  • Cheese slices
  • Avocado

While the bagel slices were in the toaster, I sliced up my avocado and grabbed some cheese slices.

Add your cheese slices to each bagel. I like how the cheese softens when it sits on top of the warm bagel.

Add your Hillshire Farm® Farm Classics® Lunchmeat choice. I like to stack the lunchmeat nice & thick.

Top with your avocado slices.

....and add more lunchmeat if you like. By this time, my mouth starts to water in anticipation!

Top it all with your bagel slice, and enjoy! This sandwich is very filling, and works great as a quick snack after school, or even a small meal.

I was able to find everything I needed for these two meal options, at my local Walmart. I love when I can do a one-stop shopping trip! You can find Tyson® Grilled & Ready® Chicken in Walmart's freezer section.

The Hillshire Farm® Farm Classics® Lunchmeats are located in Walmart's refrigerated section where the lunchmeat is sold.
