When I saw how cute the Shindigz Abracadabra party theme was, I knew this would be a great party for my little guy to host! He loves to dress up, and the idea of having him play the role of a pint-sized magician was just too cute to pass up.

Before the magician's show started, we displayed his cape, top hat, magic wand, cups and ball trick, and a fun light box that announced his name in lights! I loved the idea of using checkered paper to create the look of a stage floor. 

I started off by creating a stage setting for my little magician's magic act. I set up the red curtain arch and it instantly started to transform our stage area. I added some black metallic curtains behind it for contrast. I took styrofoam letters and spelled out MAGIC SHOW. I applied mod podge to each letter and sprinkled them with gold glitter. Once they were dry, I suspended them from the red curtain arch with fishing line. This gave the letters the illusion of floating in thin air!

I had an old trunk from a previous party and gave it a fresh coat of paint. I stenciled "Dylan the great" in yellow paint and presto-change-o! I transformed the trunk into a traveling magic show performance table. Before "Dylan the great" took center stage, his trunk was decorated with strands of globe lights!

The party table was set up with our little magic-loving friends in mind. Each guest got a top hat with a personalized sticker, a magic wand, and even their own "magic kit". The color palette coordinated with the Abracadabra theme, and I even added some touches of gold. Party treats were served on Abracadabra dinner plates, and beverages were sipped from matching Abracadabra paper cups. 

Our cupcakes sparked up some magic of their own with the help of star shaped sparklers! I wrapped them in personalized cupcake wrappers, and finished them off with a hat & bunny ears cupcake topper, from Creativities Galore.

The magic kits were a crowd favorite, and so simple to put together! I took black gable boxes and added a personalized sticker. I attached bunny ears to the back of the box, to resemble ears coming out of a hat. I added white gloves, and funny glasses to each kit. The guests loved dressing up in time to watch Dylan the great's magic act! 

The party table was filled with all sorts of magical fun! Each guest got to take home their very own mini gumball machine. I filled them with white sixlets, and added red ribbon, black ribbon, and white ribbon. 

The party-goers also took home some magic to enjoy after the party! I turned some top hats upside down and filled them with magic playing cards and trick thumbs. 

I filled scalloped containers with coordinating rock candy sticks, and fun hand clappers - these worked perfectly for when it came time to clap for Dylan the great!
