Summer is just getting started! We love to plan frequent trips to the beach, along with fun afternoons of water play in our own backyard. My youngest is 2 and starting to slowly ease into the early stages of potty training. Thank goodness for Huggies® Little Swimmers® this time of year! Life in California graces us with many sunny + warm days, so picking up my box of disposable swimpants from my local Sam's Club was the best value for my family's budget.
Not only do Huggies® Little Swimmers® have easy to open sides for those quick & easy changes by the pool, they also make getting back to the water a breeze. Just add your favorite spot for water play and keep your little guests stocked up for a worry-free time!
I love setting up a water park setting in our backyard. I bring out a small blow up pool, their water table and slide, and lots of buckets, cups, floating toys, beach balls, and bubbles too. My boys love to play in the water. They could spend hours just pouring water into different cups & pails. Do your children like to have fun splashing around? Why not put together a fun & simple Splash Bash?! I noticed that Finding Dory is on specially marked boxes of Huggies® Little Swimmers® so to help get into the spirit of the upcoming movie, I planned our party theme around fish and other sea life!
Water play does not have to be expensive. {California is in a drought right now, so we have to make sure we stay water wise} Set up a designated area in your yard for the kids to have some fun! I picked a corner in our backyard for the kids, I can sit on the patio away from the splash zone, and still remain close by to make sure the little water-goers are safe.
Cover a small table with some cheerfully polka dotted fabric, and set up a colorful party for them and their little friends to enjoy. You can set out fun paper plates, and add a fun sea life animal visor at each place setting. Not only will the kids have fun wearing the hats, you'll be happy that they're shaded from the sun.
Set out some towels for the other party guests. Chances are the other moms & dads will bring their own towels, but it's also nice to have some available, just in case. You can make the towels part of your decor by setting them on your party table, inside of a beach tote.
Toddlers love to snack! Set out goldfish crackers inside of push-up-pop containers. They hold the perfect amount, and they're easy for little hands to hold on to. Fill a small beach pail with sand, and the push-up containers will rest in there nicely.
Don't worry about baking on a hot day, Sam's Club also has a great bakery that sells delicious cupcakes! Order some plain vanilla cucpakes and make them into a fun & festive party treat by putting them inside of paper baking cups, and topping them with a coordinating cupake topper. {Below you can find my tutorial on making these toppers for your own Splash Bash!}
No party is complete without bubbles! Set out small bottles of bubbles on a colorful cake stand. Here I added stickers that coordinated with our Welcome sign, and with the lollipops below.
Colorful lollipops are lots of fun for party guests. Add some sand to another beach pail and stick the lollipops inside for easy grabbing. This may also come in handy when you're trying to coax your little one out of the water.
Even paper straws can look festive by adding colorful straw flags. Set them inside of a painted Mason jar for a little extra fun!
Don't let your little swimmers go home empty handed after the party! Why not send them home with a special fish of their very own? Add some fish water squirters to a small plastic fish bowl, and let the fun continue after the party!
Here's another idea for a fun party activity that will also keep your guests smiling. Put together a simple ice cream bar. Serve ice cream in ready-to-go cups and top with a gummy shark!
Throw some sharks on a skewer for a fun party treat!
Don't forget to capture those fun moments! Set up a quick photo spot for your little guests by adding a fun backdrop. This is a patterned roll of paper that I attached to a board. Add some fun dotted garlands, and our printable banner, and you're ready for some photo fun!
Take a few water themed cut outs like the one I found here at my local dollar store, attach them to wooden dowels, and you've got yourself some fun photo props! Goggles aren't required, but they certainly add more fun to your pictures!
Don't forget to have your tote ready for a last minute trip to the water! Have some towels handy and pack a few extra Huggies® Little Swimmers®

Here's a quick tutorial on how you can take simple store bought cupcakes, and make them a bit more party festive! Here are the supplies I used:
Our printable cupcake toppers
paper straws
scissors
paper punch
double stick tape
Once you've printed out the cupcake topper file, cut out each row and set aside.
Take your paper straws and snip them in half.
Next, take your paper punch and punch out each topper square.
Grab your double stick tape and attach a piece to the back center of each topper square. Attach the paper straw and apply some slight pressure to ensure a secure bond.
Your cupcake toppers are now ready to be inserted in the cupcakes!
Fun, festive, and so easy! Your store bought cupcakes are now ready to party!
Head to Sam's Club for your Huggies® Little Swimmers®. You'll find them in the baby section with diapers & other baby products.
Are you excited for the warmer weather so you can create your own Splash Bash?! The fun party possibilities are endless!
