Make framed artwork following these easy steps

July 30, 2018

At the beginning of the year, my hubby and I tackled a big home project! We spent nearly 3 months making our living room more functional by painting, decluttering, and switching out all the old furniture and decor! (You can see all the details of our Living Room Refresh, here) It was so much fun to watch our space transform into something that the entire family could benefit from.

Since the refresh, I've had fun decorating our new space with pillows and DIY framed artwork! I went to Ikea and picked up these RIBBA frames. I used my Cricut Maker and some simple black card stock to create easy artwork!

I collected some of my favorite clip art designs that I thought would look great as decor in my living room. Cactus, potted flowers, a mountain scene, and our last name.

Once I had all my art cut out, I prepared the frames. I set them out against my wall for placement and spacing purposes. Once I marked the areas where I was going to hang the frames, I added white card stock as the base inside of the frame, and glued the finished pieces onto the white card stock. Super easy, right?

Such a simple DIY project that added some interest to an otherwise blank wall. The nice part about my "art" is that I don't have to settle for these designs. As time goes on, I can quickly and easily switch out my card stock pieces! I'm already dreaming up some simple designs and quotes that will be perfect to use during the holidays.
